I have the same situation with the wall switch, but my kitchen is completed. The counter top extends past the upper cabinets. So, I'm thinking of running the backsplash all the way to the wall, not up or down the wall. Any other suggestions??

Great and timely article for me. I am choosing a splash edge made out of my countertop for a clean look, and will have the backsplash of the range area also out of my countertop. I decided not to have tiling as a backsplash, as I want my custom painted "vista grey" cabinets and my Silestone Charcoal Soapstone countertops to be the stars. I love your picture of the curved backsplash made out of the countertop, beautiful! ( I may steal this idea). Thank you for this article!!
