Atlanta/John's Creek Interior - Asian Inspired

Asian Dining Room, Atlanta

This was originally a sunroom that was never used. We turned it into our clients' everyday breakfast area! Originally, this house had a very typical, cookie cutter traditional style. Our clients wanted it to feel more spacious and contemporary, so we ended up providing them a complete design makeover. The room is right off the family room and kitchen, so we completely removed the demising wall to open it up. We selected all new hand-scraped, whitewashed, wide plank hardwood floors for the entire main level of the house. We carried the new floors into this room, which made it feel like an extension of their family room and kitchen, rather than an additional room. We designed the room with beams just to add visual interest. Some of the most important features in our design are the new windows that we selected to showcase their gorgeous state park view in their back yard... We even replaced a palladium window at the top center with the triangular shaped one that you see in the photo. The overall style is an eclectic blend, mixing vintage Asian modern furniture with new pieces from Room and Board. The rug sets the stage and provides a very warm and eclectic feel as well.
