We had the pleasure of renovating this small A-frame style house at the foot of the Minnewaska Ridge. The kitchen was a simple, Scandinavian inspired look with the flat maple fronts. In one bathroom we did a pastel pink vertical stacked-wall with a curbless shower floor. In the second bath it was light and bright with a skylight and larger subway tile up to the ceiling.

The Brief: to create a wet room that invokes feelings of the sea. The pebble tiles create a wonderful foot massage as you walk in as well as adding depth and interest. The bespoke, hand made rustic vanity unit, gives plenty of storage space, whilst adding a warm touch to the overall look of the bathroom. The shine from the grey metro tiles means that rather than feeling small, this bathroom gives a sense of space and light.

This master bath went from drab to high tech! We took our client's love for the view of the lake behind his home and turned it into a space where the outside could be let in and where the privacy won't be let out. We re configured the space and made a full wet room with large open shower and luxury tub. The vanities were demolished and a floating vanity from Canyon Creek Cabinets was installed. Soothing Waterworks Statuary white marble adorns the walls. A Schluter tileable kerdi drain and A Kohler DTV controls the shower with dual rainshower heads, the Kohler Numi commode does it all by remote as well as the remote controlled electrified glass that frosts and unfrosts at the touch of a button! This bath is as gorgeous as it is serene and functional! In the Entry, we added the same electrified glass into a custom built front door for this home. Our clients desperately needed a new master bathroom that had a better function, flow and aesthetic. Incorporating all of the family’s needs and desires, Progressive Design Build designed a new layout that accomplished all of their goals. We started by removing the large Jacuzzi tub and tub deck and moving the vanity to the old shower location, making room for a new walk-in shower and heated towel bar that the owners wanted. During demolition, a unique challenge presented itself. We found a vent pipe in the middle of the new vanity cabinet location, which wasn’t part of the original building drawings. Due to its location in a high-rise condo, which also serviced some of the floors below, we couldn’t move the pipe very far. Through creative planning meetings and design, as well as innovative cabinetry solutions, we were able to work around the pipe. The finishes on the project were much more contemporary giving the new master bathroom a subtle sophistication and understated elegance. The cabinets were designed with straight, simple lines and they were custom built with a deep, rich brown finish. The richness of the dark cabinetry juxtaposed with the elegance of the white porcelain tile floor and white Quartzite countertop, contributed to the room’s sophistication and the modern look that the clients desired. In the end, all project goals were achieved!

Two very cramped en-suite shower rooms have been reconfigured and reconstructed to provide a single spacious and very functional en-suite bathroom. The work undertaken included the planning of the 2 bedrooms and the new en-suite, structural alterations to allow the wall between the original en-suites to be removed allowing them to be combined. Ceilings and floors have been levelled and reinforced, loft space and external walls all thermally insulated. A new pressurised hot water system has been introduced allowing the removal of a pumped system, 2 electric showers and the 2 original hot and cold water tanks which has the added advantage of creating additional storage space.
