Construction of the deck’s beautiful stone veneer columns was more complex than you might think. Each column rests on a concrete pad, and we dug piers under the pads to ensure no movement of the stone veneer in the future. Then we built a wood frame for each column and applied the stone veneer. The homeowners chose Dutch Quality Stone. The color they selected is Sienna, and the specific pattern is Weather Ledge. The pillar caps are natural limestone with a smooth surface on top and a rock face finish around the edges.

At the opposite end of this long deck you’ll find the clients’ outdoor fireplace. It’s a gas-burning fireplace we built with chop block stone matching the outdoor kitchen. We added a cap of cream Lueders stone on either side of the chimney. You may notice the stone hearth built into the deck. Building code requires you have non-combustible materials outside the fireplace doors. We used a combination of inlaid stone and an AZEK decking border for the hearth. There is plenty of room for comfortable seating in front of the fireplace.

The owner wanted to add a covered deck that would seamlessly tie in with the existing stone patio and also complement the architecture of the house. Our solution was to add a raised deck with a low slope roof to shelter outdoor living space and grill counter. The stair to the terrace was recessed into the deck area to allow for more usable patio space. The stair is sheltered by the roof to keep the snow off the stair.

Our clients knew they wanted low-maintenance decking for their new outdoor living space. They chose TimberTech decking in Maritime Gray. This is a darker gray color that provides a striking contrast to the home’s light-colored exterior. We wrapped the beams and posts in AZEK PVC in a light color to match the home’s exterior. For their deck railings, the homeowners selected black aluminum in the Georgian style from Preferred Railing Systems.

Tall, sturdy steel posts support the porch roof, which features an open gable design with decorative queen truss details at open end of the gable. From this angle you can see the interior porch ceiling we built with handcrafted, prefinished tongue-and-groove ceiling boards from Synergy Wood, our favorite. For breezes on a still day, we installed a heavy-duty ceiling fan. Finally, lighting recessed in the ceiling above will increase the functionality of this porch at night.

This deck was designed and built using TimberTech Pro from the Legacy Collection in the colorway of Mocha. It was the perfect complement to the ivory and brown Tudor color palette of the home.
And, as all of our Archadeck deck designs are custom and personalized to best fit the needs and wishes of the family that lives there, “one-of-a-kind” is definitely the way to go.
With sleek vertical lines, we chose a 36-inch tall black wrought iron railing. Without obstructing any views into the backyard vista, it now provides sturdy and dependable protection while the family and their friends enjoy their new outdoor living space.

We built the base of the outdoor kitchen with chop block stone. While we didn’t install the granite countertops, we did install the smooth, cream Lueders stone surface that supports the clients’ Big Green Egg. You can see these homeowners plan to do a lot of cooking outdoors. In addition to the Big Green Egg they have a grill, a griddle, a refrigerator, storage space, warming drawers and more. With bar seating at the counter, their guests will be able to visit with the chef easily.

Para la terraza se uso un suelo de baldosa hidráulica en tonos pastel. La baranda de forja antigua hecha a medida por artesanos locales a partir de piezas recuperadas es un elemento que aporta gran personalidad al espacio.
