Our clients' selected TimberTech composite decking in the Maritime Gray color. It’s the perfect contrast to the lighter siding on the home. For their deck railing, they selected Westbury black aluminum rail sections with white vinyl sleeves on the rail posts. For the deck skirting, we used the same TimberTech Maritime Gray decking used for the deck surface and steps.

This deck creates an easy flow from the kitchen, outdoors to the deck then the patio, then the garden. Without a railing, it feels like a "raft" floating above the patio and lush greenery of this terraced yard. Made from locally sourced black locust wood and cedar, with steps of granite curb stones salvaged from a New Hampshire highway. The shelves were designed to create open screening from a neighbors yard and driveway and house a changing collection of small plants, artifacts, and stones.

Custom designed and built Trex deck in Houston. The inside pattern is the color Saddle while the border is Brown. The deck is built next to a decorative stamped concrete patio and has a mixed beach stone border.

Archadeck of Suburban Boston redecked this stunning elevated deck and balcony with Ipe Brazilian hardwoods. The space features convenient under-deck storage. The deck details include fluted posts clad in pine, and a mahogany rail with an Ipe cap. Photos by Archadeck of Suburban Boston.

A lush rooftop garden overlooking Boston’s historic Back Bay offers stunning views of the Prudential and John Hancock Tower. The character of the site is amplified by the dramatic contrast between architecture and sky. Mature magnolias underplanted with hostas form a threshold into the historic brownstone. Weathered-wood planting beds spill with new hardy shrubs, perennials, grasses, and herbs; a paper birch and a wind-sculpted spruce lend dramatic texture, structure, and scale to the space. Rugosa rose, juniper, lilac, peony, iris, perovskia, artemisia, nepeta, heuchera, sedum, and ornamental grasses survive year round and paint a brilliant summer-long display. A collection of new and antique containers dot the rooftop, and a terrific orchid collection rests beneath the birch tree during summer months.

The homeowners wanted an integrated, open outdoor space for entertainment and grilling. It had to look great from the inside of their home and offer the feel of a private wooded retreat; yet be functional.

This garden takes advantage of the chimney tops and attics spaces of the urban landscape of the Back Bay- we refer to it as "Mary-Poppinsville". Split in to two areas- seating and dinning/cooking. shrubs, perennials, annuals, and edibles including: herbs, tomatoes, The client is a gourmet chef and uses the foods in his cooking. With limited space, the most popular edible plants that clients ask for are tomatoes and herbs because the herbs can be used in daily cooking and theres nothing to compare to the homegrown tomato. Where space is generous, we also plant blueberries strawberries, raspberries, lettuces, peppers.
