Il progetto di restyling e di arredo per questa villa moderna in fase di costruzione, ha voluto unire contemporaneità e tradizione, tema importante nei nostri progetti. Dell’architettura della Costa Smeralda abbiamo recuperato i colori caldi e tenui, la sensazione di uno spazio avvolgente, quasi naturale, declinato in chiave moderna e lineare. L’ambiente principale, la zona giorno era caratterizzata da un corridoio stretto che con due pareti inclinate si affacciava bruscamente sulla sala. Per armonizzare il rapporto tra gli ambienti e i cambi di quota, abbiamo scelto di raccordare le linee di pareti e soffitto con un rivestimento in granito rigato, che richiami i lavori di Sciola e impreziosisca l’ingresso. Il decoro rigato viene richiamato in altri elementi di arredo, come nella camera da letto e nel bagno, nei pannelli in rovere che rivestono la testiera del letto e il mobile lavabo. Il granito si ripropone nel rivestimento della piscina, nei complementi di arredo e nel top cucina. Nel soffitto, il tono grigio chiaro luminoso del granito viene riproposto all’interno delle campiture centrali. Il richiamo alla tradizione è presente anche negli elementi di decoro tessile utilizzati in tutta la casa. In sala, i toni neutri e giallo oro dei tappeti di mariantoniaurru, richiamano la tradizione in maniera contemporanea e allo stesso modo il pannello Cabulè, disegnato dallo studio, impreziosisce la camera da letto e ne migliora l’acustica. Per la cucina è stato scelto, infine, un look semplice, total white, adatto ad un ambiente funzionale e luminoso. Gli arredi sono tutti in legno, granito e materiali tessili; veri, quasi rustici, ma al tempo stesso raffinati. The project involves a detailed restyling of a modern under construction villa, and it aims to join contemporary and traditional features, such as many of our projects do. From the Costa Smeralda architecture, we borrowed warm and soft colors, and that atmosphere in which the environment seems to embrace the guests, and we tried to translate it into a much modern design. The main part of the project is the living room, where a narrow hall, would lead, through two opening walls, abruptly facing the wall. To improve the balance between hall and ling room, and the different ceiling heights it was decided to cover the walls and ceiling with striped granite covering, recalling Sciola’s work and embellishing the entrance. Striped decor recurs throughout the house, like in the walnut panels covering the bedroom headboard and the bathroom sink cabinet. Granite is present on the pool borders, in furniture pieces and on the kitchen top. The ceiling, thanks to a light grey shade, recalls the granite impression. In the living room, golden yellow details appear in mariantoniaurru carpets, while in the bedroom, Cabulè textile panels, designed by the Studio, improve acoustic performance. For the kitchen we picked out a simple, total white look, to focus on its feature of functional and luminous environment. All the furniture pieces are made of natural wood, granite or textile material, to underline the feeling of something true, rustic but at the same time sophisticated. Traditional elements are also present, all the while translated in modern language, on many textile furnishing accessories chosen.

« L’esthétisme économique » Ancien fleuron industriel, la ville de Pantin semble aujourd’hui prendre une toute autre dimension. Tout change très vite : Les services, les transports, l’urbanisme,.. Beaucoup de personnes sont allés s’installer dans cette ville de plus en plus prospère. C’est le cas notamment de Stéphane, architecte, 41 ans, qui quitta la capitale pour aller installer ses bureaux au delà du périphérique dans un superbe atelier en partie rénové. En partie car les fenêtres étaient toujours d’origine ! En effet, celles-ci dataient de 1956 et étaient composées d’aluminium basique dont les carreaux étaient en simple vitrage, donc très énergivores. Le projet de Stephane était donc de finaliser cette rénovation en modernisant, notamment, ses fenêtres. En tant qu’architecte, il souhaitait conserver une harmonie au sein des pièces, pour maintenir cette chaleur et cette élégance qu’ont souvent les ateliers. Cependant, Stephane disposait d’un budget précis qu’il ne fallait surtout pas dépasser. Quand nous nous sommes rencontrés, Stephane nous a tout de suite dit « J’aime le bois. J’ai un beau parquet, je souhaite préserver cet aspect d’antan. Mais je suis limité en terme de budget ». Afin d’atteindre son objectif, Hopen a proposé à Stephane un type de fenêtre très performant dont l’esthétisme respecterait ce désir d’élégance. Nous lui avons ainsi proposé nos fenêtres VEKA 70 PVC double vitrage avec finition intérieur en aspect bois. Il a immédiatement trouvé le rapport qualité/prix imbattable (Stephane avait d’autres devis en amont). 4 jours après, la commande était passée. Stéphane travaille désormais avec ses équipes dans une atmosphère chaleureuse, conviviale et authentique. A successful living room design is inviting, has enough seating for the whole clan – a comfortable couch is a must – and encourages conversation. Which living room layouts will work best for you?

Every living area will have design challenges. A long, narrow lounge room, for example, risks looking like a hallway if furniture is lined up against the walls. Instead, opt for small furniture items, like a cosy two-seater couch, and create various focal points throughout the space. In square living rooms, a symmetrical layout encourages a formal setting. Place seating on either side of the room, with a focal point in the middle to pull the room together. For a truly intimate vibe, replace your couch with some occasional chairs positioned around a coffee table or ottoman. This will make the main focus conversation. An open-plan home – one where the lines are blurred between kitchen, dining and living – may require a layout that focuses on definition. You’ll want to make sure furniture doesn’t block the flow between spaces, and instead use something like an area rug to create zones.

How can you decorate your living room?

The living room can be a place in which to show off your personality, but if you want a timeless living room scheme, stick to neutral walls, couches and ottomans. Colour can be added through accessories, and is a lot more interchangeable! Rugs, cushions and throws are great for adding colour, while mirrors, lamps and ceiling lights will set the mood. Make your living room unique by including family heirlooms and photos. For a polished look, try creating a coffee table vignette – you could use books as pedestals or group items together on a tray. Try adding a vase, a mixture of round and rectangular objects and some books.

What are some small living room ideas?

Small living room designs can be tricky to work with, but aren’t doomed to fail. Often, you just have to get creative with furniture. An open-back chaise can create a sense of spaciousness, while small side tables paired together can substitute a coffee table. Even better, an ottoman can be used as a footrest, coffee table or extra seating. Big furniture items like the couch are best kept in light colours, and if there’s room for a coffee table, a glass-top one is best. If you have two spaces in one – perhaps your living room sits in front of a single-wall kitchen – make sure they are connected by decor, colour and style. For definition, just add area rugs, or use your couch as a dividing wall. It’s worth having a few furniture pieces, whether a bookshelf, couch or entertainment unit, in the same colour as the walls, too, so they blend into the room and visually expand the space.

Is open-plan living for you?

Today’s homes often embrace open-plan living, whereby the living room runs off the kitchen and/or dining areas. Open-plan living allows greater functionality, but can risk creating a vast, soulless space if not done right. To avoid a cavernous feel in an open-plan design, define areas with furniture, rugs and lighting, or consider using a wall divider. Also be sure to keep flooring, lighting and materials consistent throughout, for cohesiveness. Noise may be an issue – someone banging pots and pans while you’re watching TV, for example – so include lots of soft furnishings, such as rugs, curtains and couches to help absorb the noise. You will also need to factor in plenty of storage, so mess is kept at bay.
