A small kitchen addition with matching exterior stone made space for a long, seating island. Extending into the garage 4 ft allowed for a new marble powder room and mudroom with cubby built in while providing more space for a breakfast table. Client's lived in Europe, so the custom, hardwood, glazed, soft white kitchen cabinets and marble counter tops provide an elegant french farm house kitchen feel and function. Client loves cooking for her boys and friends with her new french door oven and 36" Thermador range. Dark walnut hardwood flooring provides a uniform contrasting warm tone throughout. Two large Marvin custom window and increased wall opening to dining room improved light and view.

This large kitchen-great room remodel, was a huge change for this family of 5. By removing the structural wall between the living room and kitchen made a huge improvement upon this living space. We also eliminated the living room altogether and moved the dining room table in front of the newly raised fireplace. Added a mini-sports bar, walk-in pantry, exterior accessible laundry room, morning coffee station and tall tuscany stone fireplace, where a few of the many features that this space has to offer. The client wanted a Tuscan style Kitchen and loved the stone hearths we had done before so we created this complete wall of stone which compliments the granite countertops, tumbled travertine backsplash with bronze accents. An iron and crystal chandelier hightlights the large island.

Located on four acres in rural Santa Margarita, The Jacobson Residence is a contemporary early California/Spanish-influenced family home. Designed for a couple and their two young children, this large home aims to capture the views of Santa Margarita Valley while complimenting the rural setting. Architecturally, the Spanish influence is characterized by the stucco finish, turreted entry, tile roof and iron work details throughout. At just over 4,900 SF the interior layout includes enough space to meet the needs of the parents and children alike. A large great room and kitchen feature vaulted ceilings with exposed beams, arched doorways and travertine floors. For the children, an 800 SF play room, located on the second floor opens to a balcony overlooking the back of the property. The play room, complete with its own bathroom and exterior entry, has the flexibility to later be converted into a guest apartment. The expansive rear patio backs up to acres of lush grass and the Santa Margarita countryside. The outdoor fireplace and large French doors leading into the house, make this space ideal for entertaining and enjoying the views.

Conceptually the Clark Street remodel began with an idea of creating a new entry. The existing home foyer was non-existent and cramped with the back of the stair abutting the front door. By defining an exterior point of entry and creating a radius interior stair, the home instantly opens up and becomes more inviting. From there, further connections to the exterior were made through large sliding doors and a redesigned exterior deck. Taking advantage of the cool coastal climate, this connection to the exterior is natural and seamless Photos by Zack Benson

.In this kitchen we designed, no one could believe this was a tiny kitchen. What we ended up doing was combining the dining room with the kitchen to create one large chef's kitchen. The dining room was relocated to the small narrow family ...room. And the large formal living room was transformed into the great room. Our client loves it! As our client is a professional chef, we were able to give her two dishwashers, a sub zero, warming drawer, 6 burner stove, double wall oven, microwwave and a baking pantry, so she did not need to bend down to pick up the heavy mixers. All her baking utensils, are located in one area. Her choice was to make it more of a mediterrean style kitchen, but we wanted to make it a bit more transitional by the use of stainless steel appliances and give her an eating counter. By taking down the wall between the Kitchen and the dining room we let in all this natural light. Barstools are located at the end o the pennisula. We made it extra deep so that she could also use it as a plating station. Enjoy! For additonal examples of our work, please view our website, KennethDavis.net
