Rustic Exterior

The design was for all rooms to be well-lit, well-insulated to facilitate low energy bills. A solar passive approach to the northerly elevations to control the thermal mass naturally over the tiled floor that is heated and cooled by a heat pump that works in reverse. The design is interesting from every angle internally and externally. The floorplan is designed in a zoned approach with 2 manifolds for the hydronic system, giving the clients the ability to shut one zone off to save on energy use. The building is automated from the client's phone, while at home and remotely. The design includes recycled bricks, spotted gum cladding tied in with Corten steel elements.
