Inspiration for a traditional living room in Sacramento.

Zakopane in the Sierras

Traditional Living Room, Sacramento

In Russian this configuration would be known as kapić .... where the fireplace/hearth serves as the structural and familial center of the house. The house literally "hangs from the stack" and the Family life is "centered" in the structure. Fireplace in dry stacked Montana basalt, floors in reclaimed granite from Fujian Province, beams in reclaimed oak from Canada, hand pounded wrought iron firedogs, Italian bronze, hand carved stag chandelier, Persian rugs.
