“Michael Bird is a very talented and knowledgeable Architect specializing in Adirondack style homes. He designed our home and garage, obtained all permits, hired top contractors and supervised the entire construction and landscape project. The finished product is amazing. His attention to detail is impeccable. He and his staff are a pleasure to work with. They kept us up to date with progress reports and photos and met all deadlines. We are so very happy with the way our home turned out and would highly recommend Michael Bird and Adirondack Design. We will be working with Michael in the Spring of 2014 on a boathouse.”

“Paul is able to creat what you want, not what he wants. He listens to your ideas, & then creates it. He doesn't make you put a signature item in to show its his work. He has a keen eye for natural light, functionality, & usability. If you want incredible he's done it, if you want stupid simple it's not a problem. He wants clients to enjoy what's created for years to come. He is honest, detailed, & you won't just use him once. J”

The "team" exhibited an exceptional structural knowledge base with precision timeline efficiency coupled with an empathic cost conscious protocol. Michael's "Adirondack architectural style" kinesthetic/visual sense of position and wholeness transcended my dream project into "breath taking" results. “Cushman designed and oversaw construction of my small inn, sterling Ridge Inn. The design was economical and sited perfectly with the natural beauty of the meadows, woods, and spectacular mountains. Inside, on the porches, or in the grounds, one felt comfortably connected to the nearby natural beauty. Everything, from the convenience of the kitchen to the light and comfort of the cathedral ceiling living room gave great comfort to the inkeeper (me), as well as my guests.”

“Melissa designed a kitchen and vertical addition to my 1820 brick one-room schoolhouse in Vermont. She was super thoughtful to find ways to preserve the original timber framing of the roof while maximizing the interior space for storage, second bedroom and office. The kitchen is almost finished and is a dream to work in. I haven't done the tower/dormer construction yet, but I dream about it daily!”

“Nancy Leary did a beautiful redesign on my 1850's VT farmhouse. She seamlessly incorporated all my needs, in a fashion that was respectful of the original character of the house, but which also managed to incorporate all the conveniences of the 21st century. The project included: restoration of original front porch, design and installation of a new, modern kitchen, total LR redesign including: creation of stove fireplace and appropriate flanking built-in bookcases, design and installation of new windows and exterior door in LR, relocation of front door, and realignment of beams under original pine plank flooring to eliminate serious buckling and slant. Besides doing a basic basement rehab, a including a new concrete floor, new windows and insulation, upstairs Nancy also did a new insulation of many exterior walls, and in the master bedroom, the installation of new gas fireplace and incorporation of old mantel . Her attentiveness, humor and care throughout the project made her a pleasure to work with. I recommend her highly.”

“We had never worked with architects and designers nor had we been through this type of home renovation project. We asked Brown and Davis to explain the process to us and help us understand exactly how it would work. They exceeded our expectations in that regard from introduction to construction finish. The design that they came up with took 100% of our functional needs and aesthetic direction into consideration and turned it into a modern, practical and livable space that we never could have imagined on our own. We couldn't be happier with our home and look forward to renovating a few more spaces in our home in the future with the Brown & Davis team.”
