“Paul is able to creat what you want, not what he wants. He listens to your ideas, & then creates it. He doesn't make you put a signature item in to show its his work. He has a keen eye for natural light, functionality, & usability. If you want incredible he's done it, if you want stupid simple it's not a problem. He wants clients to enjoy what's created for years to come. He is honest, detailed, & you won't just use him once. J”

“Michael Bird is a very talented and knowledgeable Architect specializing in Adirondack style homes. He designed our home and garage, obtained all permits, hired top contractors and supervised the entire construction and landscape project. The finished product is amazing. His attention to detail is impeccable. He and his staff are a pleasure to work with. They kept us up to date with progress reports and photos and met all deadlines. We are so very happy with the way our home turned out and would highly recommend Michael Bird and Adirondack Design. We will be working with Michael in the Spring of 2014 on a boathouse.”

“In 2012, after talking with several different architects, I selected Karyn Scherer to design my new home. I ended up not only with a lovely, comfortable and well-functioning house, but also a wonderful new friendship. I knew exactly what I wanted…sunlight, air, flow of spaces, cozy but spacious, low maintenance… Karyn listened and understood my ideas and goals. Together, we began the process of designing and building my house. Working with Karyn was easy and pleasant. While discussing all the many decisions and choices to be made, Karyn could explain to me in ways I really understood, what was involved; why we could NOT do A, if I absolutely wanted B and C. Or, she could come up with a different way, perhaps less complicated or less expensive to achieve whatever the particular goal was. Designing and building a new home is most certainly a complicated PROCESS, and I think it’s extremely important that the architect and the home owner maintain a good working relationship throughout. There are always some unexpected surprises and I found that Karyn was able to problem solve creatively any time that happened. Respect, trust, and good communication were the important pieces in our working relationship. It certainly paid off…I really love my house and I consider Karyn a good friend !”

“John Connell is a genius. He is creative, knowledgeable, innovative, brings incredible energy to a project, has a great sense of humor (defusing any conflicts during the building process) and designs your home to fit YOUR life. We built a house from scratch with him, he was attentive to detail from start to finish, and made great recommendations for energy savings. We have been living in the house he designed for years and every day we enjoy it anew. His enthusiasm for show work and his good humor are infectious, making the whole design and build process memorable and fun.”

“My wife and I are very pleased with Center Studio's work. We started with an early consultation that helped us to think about aspects of design that hadn't occurred to us. John Doane helped us move from "we need more space", to thinking about how we want to use that space, cultivating our vision and aesthetics, including energy efficiency and solving key challenges. We ended up with a design for our well-loved house where we have lived for many years and raised our family.”

“Doug Viehmann designed our Adirondack style house on Lake Champlain a number of years ago. Doug was very pleasant to deal with. He was soothing during the high stress times of construction and was very practical with his ideas. Change always occurs with a custom design and Doug responded quickly to our ideas. We felt that we worked very well together with Doug. We have kept in communication over the years since our project was completed about the house and other architectural issues and Doug has always been there to provide his insight and opinion. We would highly recommend him for residential design.”

“I was the client for the Sugarbush house, and Rob Bast was the architect for a restoration and redesign. He understood my apprehension to the genre of the house, but also understood my desire to honor the original silhouette of the house. He also worked with the contractor to guide him through the unusual structural demands of a house that is suspended above the ground. I love this house, and it is completely experiential. Each and every room reveals the environment in a unique way. Even though it looks cosmopolitan, it is an experience of living in and among the trees and the treetops. I have dubbed the Master Bedroom the Val-Aerie. Rob is gifted in his ability to visualize the structure without, and it's experience from within. His help extended from the structural needs of the roof (which only appears flat), to the layout of the tiles which draw you into the space. From the big concepts to the small details, it was wonderful attention and care.”

“We worked with Chris on the design of our new home build in Stowe, Vermont and it was a very pleasant experience. He listened to our design ideas and worked closely with us to mold our dream into a workable reality. He provided useful suggestions to improve cost efficiency without sacrificing aesthetics. I highly recommend.”

“Sam designed a garage/barn/apartment for me as well as doing some additional (and complicated) work in the house. I thoroughly enjoyed working with Sam and everyone involved in the project. Sam was very helpful in navigating through the options and explained all parts very clearly. I was very happy with both the process and outcome.”
