“We began working with Tania Coward in early 2021 on the restoration of our Queenslander, with the intention of creating a welcoming and functional home for our multigenerational family. From the outset, Tania impressed us with her professionalism, creativity, and deep understanding of traditional Queenslander architecture. She brought a thoughtful and considered approach to every aspect of the project. Tania designed beautiful open-plan living and entertaining areas for the whole family to enjoy, while also creating more intimate and private spaces tailored to the individual needs of each family member. Her design accommodated our unique requirements as a multigenerational family, including a smaller, separate kitchen, dining, and living room, as well as a semi-detached bedroom and ensuite for added privacy. She worked with the original layout of the house to enhance natural flow, ventilation, and light throughout—all without the need for air conditioning. The outdoor spaces she created are exceptional, offering a seamless extension of the indoor living areas and perfect settings for entertaining. Tania also showed a strong appreciation for the traditional character of the house, carefully retaining and enhancing original features that give the home its unique charm and identity.
