“My wife and I originally employed Katree as an interior designer to plan our new kitchen layout. She has a superb sense of flow and efficiency as well as aesthetics. The result was so good, and working with her so easy, that we then employed her as our architect for a large bathroom and laundry extension to the master bedroom suite. She listened to our requirements and made many valid suggestions, many of which we adopted, but she was accepting if we disagreed and wanted something else. She always found a way to fulfill our needs. The end result was a building that was what we wanted, not what she wanted. This, from my experience as a building engineer, is an important quality in an architect, one that is sometimes lacking. Understanding and giving the client their dream is important. Katree certainly has the ability to do that. She also acted as our planning representatitive, having excellent knowledge of the process, and the application was handled very smoothly with no problems arising. We both found Katree a true professiona in all aspects of her work, always reliable and timely. We always felt she went the "extra mile" for us. At the end of the day the kitchen and bathroom/laundry extension are wonderful and we are very happy with, and grateful for, the work she did. We would most certainly recommend her as we have frequently done so already !”

We went to him with a concept of what we wanted to achieve with the block that we had, and he developed our concept through several iterations to the final design. He then prepared all of the working drawings required for building approvals and for actual construction. “Lee and Scott from Aboda Design Group created our amazing Blue Dog Beach House at Noosa. We had purchased land overlooking the ocean on a unique fan shaped sand dune block and wanted to create a very special beach house that would feel welcoming, blissful and make the most of the beautiful coastal surrounds. We were very open to design ideas and had a pinterest board of images and concepts that we liked - wanting to merge New England coastal style with a bright and airy Noosa beach house. Stepping inside the house is like a dream and each time we visit, we love it more and more and our guest feedback has been amazing. Lee and Scott listened to our ideas and were able to interpret them in a way that made best use of the site - little things such as privacy issues to that even though the house is in a suburban location, it feels almost completely private. Pictures windows create artworks of the ocean and despite being in a potentially highly windy location, the orientation and aspect of the house has dealt with this challenge beautifully making the outdoor areas useable almost all of the time and throughout the year. Six months on and we are still noticing all the design aspects that make the house truly something extraordinary. I think the most important factor of all in architectual design is the way that you feel when you are in a space and on this element, Blue Dog has met and surpassed everything we had hoped for. Lee and Scott are very passionate about what they do and it has been an amazing life experience to have had their assistance in creating what has been a dream come true for our family. We hired Palaestra to help us reconfigure the building to make the most of the spaces, increase the light while keeping the cost low. Palaestra solved the puzzle of using the space as well as possible. We have a truly brilliant new stair configuration. They designed really great rooms and had real sensitivity to our rather serious budget constraints. Unlike a number of the people we hired on the job, Palaestra really got that we couldn't afford the best or most beautiful finishes but always come up with a good looking alternative. Palaestra always deliveredon time and responded to crises.”
