“Kathy has been absolutely great to work with, and I can honestly say our house design and style are much better because of her input and ideas. We probably had a slightly unconventional request — we mainly wanted someone to help us visually realise what our recently purchased house could become. Kathy initially came out to inspect the house, take measurements, and really understand the space. From there, she created visuals for each room and provided ideas for brands, joinery, colour schemes, and finishes. She then answered our endless questions and provided direction as we painted, procured items and settled into the space. One of the things she did especially well was navigate the different design preferences between my spouse and me. She was able to find a balance and create solutions that we both genuinely loved, which made the whole process feel collaborative and enjoyable rather than stressful. We would never have found — or even imagined — some of the items and concepts she suggested, but we were excited by the possibilities from the beginning. In the end, everything came together perfectly, and we’re so happy with the result.”

“Alex recently helped us with a complete kitchen renovation, and extension to include a butlers pantry. The scope of the project was extensive, and quite overwhelming. Alex was there with the right advice and guidance to clarify our options, and ultimately, to collaborate with us to produce the best design. He then helped us navigate the endless choices of finishes, colours, sizes and styles as he finalised the brief. He understood and worked with our ideas and preferences, rather than taking control, and this was important to us. Alex arranged quotes from several recommended cabinetmakers, builders and stonemasons, and liaised with us in our selections. We were very happy with the work, and especially thrilled with the wonderful cabinetmakers. Our new kitchen is stunning. Alex backed up our bold choices, like black cabinetry (he found a new fingerprint proof surface) and funky lights (we wanted something a bit different, and he found it) He was always available and helpful - answering our endless questions. Attending to issues that emerged during the construction and installation process. “The moment Tracey saw my new unit for the first time she knew the renovations it needed and she had answers to my many questions about how I could achieve what I had in mind. She was always the obvious choice and I am so glad I chose her and her design firm Bumph & Scumble. She thought I deserved to live in a unit resembling a five-star hotel room, and now I do. Every day I love the design and feel grateful to live in such a beautiful home. Tracey brought a team of tradespeople I could never have sourced myself. She project-managed them all, which I could not have done given my inexperience and work commitments. They turned up and did the work asked of them at a time when many people could not secure tradespeople at all. I was able to get on with my own life and watch the renovations progress. All I had to do was attend planning meetings and choose the colours, materials, fittings and furnishings. Tracey always listened to my preferences and goals for the unit, so I often chose the first options she presented me. The project grew over time as I saw new possibilities.
