Over the years, I have brought together trades who can co-habitate very well. I have a team who specialise in bathrooms, another two - kitchen and common areas, and a number of small sized building companies that I deal with regularly. In addition many services - cabinetry, window treatments, flooring contractors, painters, general handymen etc etc. The fact these trades have a history together means the renovation becomes co-operative, quicker, cheaper and you get a great end result. Most importantly, I wish to actually realise the vision the client has in their mind for their home improvements. My aim is to achieve this for you as easily and affordably as possible. I currently have a number of projects happening, and they are progressing well. Seeing the planning was so clear and the very detailed task lists are up in each site - every one involved understands their jobs completely. All the trades mark off each job when completed and leave comments if there are any issues. The crews I introduce have worked with me for some time, we understand each others expectations and in turn they can self manage on site most of the time. I check in once a day, by phone or text and then visit only when required - and the owner is always advised beforehand. My role is as Project Director - overseeing these self managing trades. I do keep them on task - and adapt schedules when needed. This includes anticipating the inevitable obstacles that can arise in a home improvement. Solving these issues before that delay - or repair becomes a big problem. I did visit two houses this week to hurry things along in one, and help resolve some plumbing adaptions in another - sorted quickly. Organisation and communication are the key - but just as vital is trust in the workmen who you introduce. They are part of an extended trustworthy team - and we talk shorthand and respect each other. Background I started Sartorial Interiors in 2008 after being made redundant from the corporate world and I saw it as a sign to begin my own business in an area I was passionate about! I had a Bachelor of Arts, I’d done studies in interior design and had been painting artworks since 1998 so it was as though fate pushed me past the fear factor to launch and build a design practice.
