Anderson Homes were a pleasure to deal with in many ways. Right from the beginning we felt comfortable that Laurie Anderson and his team understood our brief. They nurtured our ideas and between us we collaborated to build our dream home. Their professionalism and communication skills were outstanding and to have the project completed right on schedule was an added thrill. Not to mention the quality of the build or the speed in which it was built. It was lovely working with Laurie's tradesmen who were always polite, well mannered and respectful, I would highly recommend Anderson Homes and can confidently say we would choose them again.
Hindley & Co

We engaged Anne from Hindley and Co about 9months prior to commencing a large scale renovation of our mid-century home down in Geelong. We were exceptionally happy with her ideas, service, and attention to detail. At the end of this process we now have an incredible family home, which feels modern and 'architectually designed' but importantly still has a very strong mid-century feel true to our design brief. We had never renovated before felt and were somewhat overwhelmed at the outset. We initially met Anne and her colleague Nicole on-site to develop a design brief, and through further meetings in their office came to a design we loved. This was then thoroughly cost planned so we knew where we stood. She took care of all the permits and gave us multiple options/quotes for providers to do the BAL rating, geotech assessment, surveying etc (including a local quote each time as our place is an hour from melbourne). Once all the drawings were done and plans ready, Anne and Nicole then managed a competitive tender to find a local builder we were extremely happy. I feel this process saved us money in the long run. Things then got underway pretty quickly! Being naive to this process we decided to take up the 'full service' and have Anne administer the building contract. Truth be told the 1st 3-4months of the build were pretty much stress free for my wife and I as Anne and our builder liased directly - just involving us when necessary. The whole build took 10months. Every room was renovated and the floor plan received a significant overhaul. Anne was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls. Her fees were in-line with industry standards to my knowledge, and I feel we've got what we paid for. Anne also helped my wife choose a number of our key pieces of furniture and was able to access trade rates for a modest commission. So - Its all done now. We couldn't be happier... Time to have Anne and Nicole around for dinner and a few bottles of champagne!

Genyou Builders

Average rating: 4 out of 5 stars12February,2019
We chose Genyou Builders for our custom build home, which we moved into early 2018. Our home is relatively small by today’s standards (14.24 sqs) Adjoining garage (11.33 sqs) Alfresco (2.38) Porch (0.37 sqs) Total area 28.33. But it packs a lot into a small space. The guys at Genyou, Anthony & Dean are very easy to deal with and are most accommodating. When we initially met with Anthony & Dean we got a very good feeling and knew instantly we were in good hands. We knew they fully understood our expectations for the project. Throughout the build there were some minor (and some a little more major), but nonetheless unavoidable hick-ups. These were always deals wth promptly and managed efficiently with the minimum disruption to the overall project. As clients, we had very definite ideas of what we did/did not want. Many, many hours of thought had gone into the design of our home and Genyou were well aware of our vision. They were able to successfully navigate us through the highs and lows of ‘the build’ with relative ease. Our home came in a little over budget - variations seem to be unavoidable. And was finished within the original timeframe we were given. We couldn’t have been happier when we moved into our home. It was everything we had hoped for. Building a home is stressful, there’s no denying that, but it certainly helps when you have a builder guiding you through the process ... and that Anthony & Dean did .... and did do well.

I was given the confidence and trust by Sky hence hired him to design my new house just by the marina. My journey with Sky started more than 3 years ago. Every step of the way, Sky had given me the clarity and best effort on all building and design aspect. I have to admit that I am not an easy client for I bomb Sky with numerous calls during weekends, public holidays and after hours. Yes Sky was ever willing to listen and help me with my queries. To be honest, I was hunting for an architect and had waisted some small fortune with two prior so called architect. I am glad I found Sky as his experiences, dedication and attention to detail is un-matched! Sky had helped me through from my house design to acquring planning permit, which was unbelievably difficult, and even administered my whole building project. There were massive amount of challenges due to unforeseen circumstances but Sky was able to assist in resolving them amicably in terms of timeline and cost.
Rebecca Naughtin Architect

Rebecca was the architect and site manager for a substantial renovation to our house in Moor Street Fitzroy. The house, which had been converted in a very haphazard fashion into 3 apartments 30-40 years previously had great bones but needed considerable and skilled renovation to return it to its former glory as a family home. The building had a long and chequered history, including as a boarding house where Weary Dunlop lived as a student. We were keen that we retained the unique character and feel of the house and made maximal use of its position, natural light and views over Fitzroy Town Hall. Rebecca was a joy and inspiration to work with from the outset. She was innovative, rigorous, and listened carefully to our suggestions, especially around environmental impact and overall feel of the property. She was incredibly resourceful in sourcing products and ideas, which made a huge difference to the final design. For example, the suspended cupboards in the kitchen – a real winner given the relatively small size for storage – came from a 1950s design magazine. She managed the project meticulously all the way through, and worked extremely well with the builders and other contractors, who clearly respected her professionalism and skill. This was not an easy project – the house had been renovated repeatedly over the years and the legacy meant no wall was straight and no two doors the same size. The final renovation is superb – understated but spectacular. We haven’t had a visitor who hasn’t been amazed by the house and renovation. I’ve lived in over 40 houses and flats in the last 30 years and this is undoubtedly the best house yet. This is partly due to the original structure but also because of the renovation; I’m sure a less skilled architect could easily have made a dog’s dinner of the project. Rebecca also clearly has an aptitude and commitment to teaching and I know that she is heavily engaged in community and voluntary work in Australia and overseas.

Creative and Amazing! Peter & Seline from Arki Design Studio worked with us to develop plans to build our dream home. We had explored options and ideas for years on our own, and were excited when Arki Design came to us with a solution, the whole family loved. Peter’s knowledge, passion for design and creative energy, was exactly what we were looking for. The final product is above and beyond our expectations! Not only were they responsive through the process but also provided construction supervision and finalised all our Interior design requirements, to full completion. Andrew Child Architecture

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars17October,2014
Andrew Child designed and supervised the builder during construction of our new home. We had never used an architect before but were reassured with Andrew's sound advice and guidance throughout the whole process. We were impressed with Andrew's creative ideas and cleverly integrated them into the design of our lovely new home. The building of our house also went smoothly. It was obvious that Andrew had a good relationship with the builder and tradesmen on site. Any issues that arose were quickly resolved. We now live in a way we could never have imagined when we think back to the empty block of land we had in the beginning. Our house is full of calm, sunny spaces that integrate well with the outside. Living here is a delight.

GIA Bathrooms & Kitchens

Average rating: 5 out of 5 stars21April,2013
We engaged GIA to undertake a renovation of several upstairs rooms into a master bedroom suite. All works were completed within 5 weeks to the highest standard. We concurrently asked GIA to build an outside, freestanding 40m2 bungalow built of brick (rendered and colourbond roofing. This also was built at the same time and was completed in 5 weeks. The standard of construction and workmanship was first rate and all subcontractors that entered our home were decent people that respected our privacy. I thoroughlly recommend GIA.
