What style bedding are you drawn too? What is the wall colour? Inspiration: Black and white (or off-white) with deeper green accent pillow. Though this room is not carpeted , I thought this room would give example of how the colours and wood tone work together.

Hi Kate, thanks for the hint, I am thinking of using the leather back cushions (from the old couch, they are still in good condition) plus some very large overstuffed ones kept from an even older settee. Any thoughts on covering, I am wondering if lightweight cotton (floor) rugs would work.

Get an electrician in to hang some pendants either side. If you are renting try floor lamps.
