Lounge room and bedroom help
Comments (6)Hi Pete, 1. Given the tight-ish space, you're probably best off wall mounting the TV, and choosing a smaller but still rectangular clear glass topped coffee table as that will appear to take up no space at all. 2. As to artworks, as you mention you're a minimalist who loves modern contemporary look, you may well like the look of our perspex artworks which you can check out in our online gallery: just the thing to go with a flat screen TV! Have a look for pieces that feature your favourite colours as a starting point. Our spectrum collection makes a great impact but there are many to choose from: http://www.signarture.com.au/collections/spectrum-perspex-artworks We also offer more affordable canvases, a 60 x 180cm 'panoramic' canvas would be perfect above your bed. Go for more restful colours: here's some ideas within the 'balance' collection: http://www.signarture.com.au/collections/balance-canvas-prints/panoramic-up-to-2-4m...See MorePlease help with lounge room design...
Comments (23)Also love the buffet....it could be the "hero" of the room. It is beautiful and they are so hard to come by at a reasonable price. I have a much cheaper style mid century buffet and initially had the TV on top of it, but now the TV is wall mounted above it. The distance between the wall and the couch wall is about 4m and we have no issues with the TV being too high...you definitely need to factor that in if you wall mount it though...luckily I had a handyman friend helping me, otherwise I would have put the TV too high. With the TV being mounted, it actually makes the buffet more of a feature and anything that is put on the buffet is now "displayed" instead of being part of clutter with the TV. It looks great and I know yours will too if you wall mount the TV. That is the great thing about the mid century buffets...they seem to fit in just as well as modern furniture as they do with the classic furniture....and because your is "classic", it will never date...a great investment....See MoreRejig floorplan for family peace! Comments (56)Just thought I would add a couple of rough ideas without drawing the floor plans, happy to do if any of this is interesting to you 1) Close in the upstairs rumpus from the passage way with full height sliding pocket doors,, and turn the top of the staircase into this space as this would cure a lot of traveling noise problems, also stairs would be safer into the now study. Add two skylights into existing passageway, extend dining across the passageway Make the current study the 15yr olds bedroom, he's soon to be 18yrs and will appreciate being near the front door away from the girls etc. 2) is slightly different Your lovely sideboard will fit into both dining spaces cheers...See MoreNot sure where to place tv and couch
Comments (11)(overlapping posts but doesn't change suggestions especially need for locations of doors and windows) to make space for a 55" TV i would swap rooms and make a media room with a wall of cabinets to include the TV, music, books etc and have a roomier dining room with extra small lounge chairs that can be rearranged when you need seating for more than 4 to watch TV..the lounge could be a sofa bed with a storage coffee table for bedding but best size and placement of all furniture depends on measurements and you will use an accurate plan of the whole apartment (including exact size and location of all doors and windows for choosing furniture, floor and window coverings, appliances, built ins, kitchen cabinets etc etc so if you can make a rough plan showing the distance from the windows and doors to all corners i can make a more accurate plan for you...See MoreMollyCoy
