Hi Linda! The color and sparkle of the pool depends on several factors, including sun exposure and time of day, but the primary factor is the interior pool finish itself. A standard plaster pool interior is a "flat" finish material, while a pebble or quartz finish will shimmer (pebble) or sparkle (quartz) from below when the sun hits the pool and refracts off of the material below the water. This pool is a quartz finish with a medium blue/grey color (Tahoe blue). The quartz and pebble finishes are also semi-permanent, lasting upward of 15 years and do not have to be replaced like a standard marcite pool plaster finish. They are more expensive, but are a good idea to consider when factoring in lifetime cost (if the finish does not break the budget, and if you are going to be in the house for a long period of time). Hope this helps! -- Jason
