I would definitely have some way of closing off this area like a bifold as suggested by Janine Ferris, as a computer area can often look messy with books, notes, kids homework etc... If this room is going to open into the dining/entertaining area, you may want to be able to hide it from guests when you've run out of time to straighten it up!! Not sure that it would work as a charge station as suggested by fiona_ab, as I can't see an entrance close by but if it is, then it would work great. As for how this room would affect re-sale, think of yourself not a stranger that might live in your home a lifetime from now. I'm also currently building and so many people comment about this or that being great for re-sale and I say that I'm building for me, not someone that might live in my home when and if I ever sell. If you constantly go through the building of your home thinking of re-sale, it could end up being a beautiful but sterile home, like the ones in magazines, where things are perfect, completely void of character, that only you the home owner can put into it.

Spent it with my Neapolitan Mastiff, my cats and with friends from the neighbourhood, Gave the dog a string of freshly cooked sausages,,,hilarious! He'd never see sausages but knew they were to eat. Stood there with the string hanging on either side of his sloppy jowls dribbling right down to the deck. Cats had seafood that they shared with me then lovely time with neighbours and good friends,,,some time spent with HOUZZ AU! It rained and is still raining. I ran out of dry clothes and have had to beg use of my neighbour's dryer...never had one here so the New Year will see some decision-making...New VAC or Dryer? Neighbourhood kids covered in mud came around with buckets of freshwater yabbies, Could not help comparing the sedate Italian Christmasses of my teens with the "shorts and T Shirts" and thongs of the Aussie Chrissie..its just such a relaxed, non-up tight time

PET PEEVE: INDOOR BAREFOOTERS NEWSFLASH: It is a plainly observable though controversial fact, to me at least, that very few people keep their indoor floors pristine enough for barefoot traffic. However, that does not seem to stop the oh-so-carefree, INDOOR BAREFOOTERS from taking their grubby, 'floor-feet' on little excursions upon coffee tables, chairs, couches and beds, etc. YUCK! Imagine seating yourself upon someone's couch and making the mistake of placing your hand beside you ON the couch, or forward upon the coffee table, only to feel an icky graininess...or stickiness? So, then you're stuck with continuous hand-washing throughout your visit because THEY could not be bothered to keep their 'floor-feet' off anything....their home being their slovenly castle and all. The YUCK factor and the politics which invariably follow my well-meaning interventions, (I'm an idealist), makes me an irritable, reluctant guest. Which ironically, never seems to stave off the invitations (sigh)! But, it also makes me a tyrannical host: "feet off my settee, Jerri! Not on my mid-century coffee table! No! Your white socks are no longer white, Jade! Aaargh!" WORSE YET, these oblivious INDOOR BAREFOOTERS tend to then touch and scratch their grubby 'floor-feet' while chatting, and touching their faces, fixing a meal or eating something...OR, shaking my hand. Oh, the humani-...'hygienity!' I feel ill!!! Yes, yes, I know that I'm whining AND yes, I know that there are worse things in the world: children suffering in Africa etc., but now that you mention it, even THEY tend to wash their feet BEFORE placing them on furniture! Maybe because they value the little they have. I know this from firsthand experience!! SIMPLE SOLUTION: Indoor shoes! Outdoor Shoes! And, when you place your feet upon anything slip OFF your shoes to reveal your lovely clean feet, which will appreciate the pristine lack of graininess from your last considerate visit. Anklet and pedicure but...floor-feet!!
