Unless you have the money to update everything else to better complement the bricks, painting them will give you a much more updated look. Over the past 18mths I’ve been working on the front and landscape of my current house, including painting the bricks and it has made the world of difference! I’ve attached a before and after photo! there are way too many colours going on here. Your home is a traditional style and yes the cream and green are traditional colours with the reddish brick however why did you put grey around the windows??also you have red scollops above the grey and it doesn't do the house justice. What colour was there before you painted the grey?? considering grey is a more modern colour I think you were attempting to modernise the externals. in saying that the roof would have been better to paint charcoal the cream in white and then the grey and then the driveway would be done in a grey stain. but if you leave it the way it is and cover the red scolloping above the windows the same grey and the bricks below the windows near the ground grey as well then get the drive way restained to the reddish colour of the bricks on the house and then it would blend more and look inviting.

We are renovating and will be replacing our cladding with weatherboards. We have a nice new colorbond roof in Ironstone, so am hoping to get some advice on colours to paint the weatherboards, fascia and anything else! We're also looking to paint the door in a quirky colour.

From your description it sounds like your Weathertex natural cladding will be a feature. A few more up-to-date photos of constuction would help. I would suggest a standard white eave, possibly Dulux Vivid White, will not compete with the feature, and also bounce some light around. However there are lots of other whites around that may suit your medium grey cladding, depending if it is a warm or cool mid grey. Best to get some samples and make a decision on-site. When looking at eave colours always hold them in position and look from underneath. The eave never gets sunshine, but the whites can be influenced by the wall colours as they bounce some colour off the walls. Best of luck, Dr Retro of Dr Retro House Calls
