Living room idea
Comments (1)Is there a window opposite the large, blank wall? If so, I would hang a large mirror on that wall to reflect the light and to create a faux second window. If there isn't a second window, then a tall floor lamp in the corner near the TV cabinet and a large, bright painting on the blank wall would help. I'd also try to move some of the furniture awat from the wall. The TV cabinet can be moved down (to make room for the floor lamp), the coffee table could go in front of the sofa and the sofa could also be moved down to create a little bit of space between it and the wall. And the rug should be moved so that it is under the front legs of the sofa (or potentially invest in a larger rug). If you're really cramped for space, then consider swapping your living and dining areas. It looks like you have a large dining setting, which may be better placed in the "alcove", depending upon the overall room dimensions, TV and antenna points, etc....See MoreNeed help with living room interior ideas!
Comments (27)Alright .... so here is another sample rug for trial ... hubby really likes these kind of patterns and thought of giving it a shot ... what do you guys think? I am thinking to take away the yellow gumball as Oskuee said ... once the rug is finalised, will get cushions .. P.S Ignore my leopard print throw! its toooo cold now .. Brrrrr... and it is quite not possible to swap positions as i would need to pull down a TV cable and also its a large L-SHAPE door behind the sofa ... i really need to change my interior lights as well ... makes the place look very dull!...See MoreNarrow living room ideas
Comments (8)That works nicely, oklouise. Thx for the dimensions, Kel. You could also incorporate a lush leafy indoor plant (one that can take indirect light) in a raised planter and possibly a standard lamp near your seating arrangement in a style compatible with your style....See MoreLiving Room Ideas!!
Comments (8)Is that a kitchen bar to the left ? Basically , do you want a dining area too ? And why no TV ? Is it because you already have another lounge with a TV , or you just don't believe in TV's ? If the budget extends to it , I'd paint the walls -- that 1980's buttery beige is dated ( the floor tiles are getting that way too , but not the end of the world IMO . But whether you do repaint or not , I'd add a couple of pieces of art , a Tv , a wall unit , a large rug , a clock . Add some character , and probably even co-ordinate colours . Then carry that through to cushions , vases , objects d'art and the like too . Then the actual furniture placement won't be so critical -- right now it looks barren and even boring , so you want to create interest through furniture , but I reckon you'd be better to draw the eyes elsewhere through colour and personality ....See Morelemacassar
