What should we do with this pool fence??

We are in the process of renovating our outdoor area. Deck has just been completed and fence painted. The shed at the back will eventually be rendered and painted (unsure what colour) and we'll be converting it into a cabana - adding a door, converting inside etc.
What I'm stuck on is the white fence. It's so long - about 20 meters and in parts it's very narrow.
Some things I thought of is adding some star Jasmin or ivy, along a trellis but my partner isn't keen as the Jasmin flowers would clog the pool filter and upkeep to make this look good is too high. He's also concerned it wouldn't survive given high temps here and he doesn't want to cut into deck to plant in the ground.
Then I thought about bench seats split up with some conifers or lilypillies but we would need quite a few of the benches, and some sections would then be difficult to move around.
I don't really like the look of those metal decorative sculptures and I'd be concerned about rusting etc.
We live in Australia in quite a tropical/humid climate and summer (which is now) is very dry and hot.
Help - what should I do here?

Comments (17)So we painted it black to match the other sides of the fence. It needs to be reinforced as its falling backwards but ok for now. I've bought some creeping Ivy to grown over it too and I'll get some boxwoods or similar to carve into spheres or balls.... Also founds some nice light teak / grey bench seats. If really like to do a few vertical gardens here but the fence won't hold it for now so this will have to do. Could be something we add to later. Comments (13)3d Laser scanning is a developing technology increasingly being utilised ( by land surveyors ) to accurately establish existing conditions and features. The scanning creates and collates a series of 3 dimensional "data points" to form a 3D "point cloud" from which various layers of detail can be extrapolated into CAD/drawings etc, so you essentially achieve a 3D model of an existing house that you can cut through for plans, sections etc and spring design processes from with ninja precision. We've started to implement it for certain projects to ensure accurate measure up data collection for our renovation/extension projects. Comments (1)I always include water . Hahaha . I've owned several places with pools , but only ever built one . Apart from a fence , a filter and a surround ( and water ) as necessities , I don't think theres anything you will regret . I've had a couple that have needed repairs , one was inground concrete , one above ground with liner . I've had $1000 ones and $30k ones , the more expensive suited the house but wasn't 30 times better , but I wouldn't have put a $1000 above ground one with that house either , if that makes sense ....See Moreflopsycat1

9 years agoYeh. Sorry. Origin picture looked like fence. I live in austraila and my husband built something like that and the planter boxes. Ours is jarrah wood ( with a few coats of decking oil) and already needs re coating because of weather and living near beach. Too hot to do that now though.we are happy with the look as it's much better than plain fence.

I love the white wall, add some fabulous white planters with lush foliage some gorgeous chairs and it could look like a luxurious resort, lucky you.
