How to combine traditional furniture with modern furniture?
Comments (45)And when your child comes in from playing and sits on the $6000 chair and he's got an almost-melted chocolate bar in his cargo shorts (he's already been twitching all over the chair) and smeared hands slippery from trying to dig it out but already the chocolate's come through the shorts onto the chair, well, you do get the picture...@carolins. That's a neat website. Wish there was one for the US. Speaking of the your homeland, the Netherlands, my best friend relocated from there with his new bride twenty years ago. Every one in a while he misses the terrible weather. You know, cold, rainy, cloudy, foggy, and if and when we happen to get a day something like that (we're in N.E. Florida) he misses home! BTW he's one of the best physical therapists I've ever met and I used to go through them like toilet paper!. He got rid of a terribly bad spasm that I had in one form or another for three decades, and he did it in three sessions. It changed my life....See MorePlacing of lounge room furniture
Comments (8)You can get gas fires now that don't need to be built in and don't need to be flued - so you can take them out of the room in Summer so they are not in the way. They run on ethanol and may be the go to save space. If you don't want a gas fire there are better, and more cost effective, heating options but that's up to you. I'd put the lounge a few feet inside the wall on the right wall (as I'm looking at the plan) and, if you move the door you can have the other chairs and table L-shaped around the rest of the room - left and north with a nice big carpet in the middle of the room. You might need another little side table for the lounge unless you are having an occasional table in the middle of the room. Just make sure you'v got somewhere for everyone to put down their drinks within arms reach....See MoreWhat do you do to protect your outdoor furniture from the elements?
Comments (20)The timing of this article is perfect! Given the erratic weather lately, shielding outdoor furniture has become a real challenge. While I've experimented with some methods here, I'm still searching for a solution with lasting effects. Do you have any specific product or brand recommendations? A big thank you to @Kevin Carol (https://qr.ae/pyDKpb) for suggesting The Cover Company NZ for outdoor furniture protection. I'm definitely going to explore their offerings. It would be fantastic if you could compare a few similar brands in terms of quality, pricing, and customization. Your insights would be highly valuable....See MoreBlack cabinetry Vs White.... Will black date
Comments (16)Hi Renae, thanks for using our photo in relation to the black and white cabinet work. I think that the black/white is certainly a time-less look, you will be able to add any colour with it as trends change. The client worked with a satin 2PAC on this job, we do not recommend a matt 2PAC as it will give a chalkboard appearance. Another point to note is that the black may show any chips easier while the paint is still curing, so be sure to get a pot of touch up paint for any small incidents. If you haven't already had a look at the full portfolio of this job, please do so. All of the cabinet work is black and white throughout the house....See MoreJodie Carter Design
