Guest bedroom and office layout dilemma
Comments (10)Hi Katie, can you move your office somewhere else while your guests are staying? Maybe put the bedhead under the window and push it hard against the left hand wall, that will give you about 67cm between the bed and the door, room to sneak in a small bedside table (if queen bed is 153cm wide and room is 220). Not ideal as the person closest to the wall would have to shuffle down off the end of the bed but it's a very tight space for a queen size bed. You could maybe then put a small chair or two and table against the wall between the end of the bed and the wardrobe for a sitting area for your guests. if your desk needs to stay would it fit along the wall where the bed head is currently? Assuming you don't want to swap the bed out to a double....See MoreBedroom Reno Challenge

Comments (10)Thank you oklouise those drawings have given us some good thoughts. The front door to the house is bottom left corner of the drawing and will swing against the Master Bedroom wall where it is thickest otherwise the door will swing into the lounge room so we'll have to get creative with the Master Bedroom sliding door location. Attached for reference. Gallifrey The ghosted wall you mentioned is the original wall before the renovation. It will be taken down so there won't be any wall in the bedroom, we were hoping to have an open plan Master Bedroom and Ensuite. LesleyH Good point, we'd love a nice large shower. We've had a bathtub combined shower for 20 years and it's on the narrow side....See MoreLooking for layout ideas for a Study / Second Living / Guest Room.
Comments (6)Hi there, straight away your predicament says to me WALL BED! The Europeans have are pros at living in tiny spaces that have to be multi use. There are some amazing wall beds that combine multi use functions like lounge/bed/office and take up very little space as they go against one wall leaving the remaining space free (just keep in mind you will need space to lower the bed when required). If you are in Australia try The Comfort Shop for some of the best multi-use wall beds that are italian made, they are pricey but worth it if you truly want a room that can be versatile (below are some of their better options, sorry some of the images are very small)...See Morejodevine
