Keep the brick, please don't paint or render. Both eat into your budget (rendering in particular is not cheap), and will mean more ongoing upkeep (render still needs to be painted on a regular basis and with a two-storey house, that is a lot more work). Our house is rendered and we would never have it again. Whenever the house moves, the render doesn't, so is prone to cracking or, over time, pieces even falling off. Even subtle movement can cause hairline cracks, which means regular patching and painting. Quite frankly, most people render an older house to make it look modern, but when rendering becomes passe (which I think is already starting to happen), then the house will look dated again (and render is almost impossible to remove once its on). Also, if you're in an area prone to termites, termites can get in between the render and the brickwork and you won't see the telltale signs of "mud" at the access points to let you know they're there. As far as the rest of the house goes, I totally agree with what Timandra Design recommended.

Cheapest thing to do would be to paint the doors put a bit of timber benchtop from Bunnings and perhaps mirror the back panel, but where's the Bar Fridge going or are you planning a bigger fridge nest to this. As Louie suggested it might be better to get rid of the old as there's no place for a much needed Bar Fridge, A Barn door of whatever style suits you would work well, you can pick up second hand doors with character for this. Then again some Bunnings timber benchtop , (Mel) fitted & supported by beams screwed into the rear and sides of the nook and hidden by a strip across the front as your bench top. With a bar fridge under this, floating shelves above on the wall for bottles /glasses and DVD player etc, much easier to use the DVD when it's not in a cupboard love the room.

allow at least two days work for specialist window installers, carpenter, plasterer and painter depending on existing structure and surprises say $3000++ as well as the cost of the glass wall.....as you can see in the first photo the glass wall and doors may need to have a timber/plaster support frame around them when retrofitted and this will need to be shaped to allow for usual imperfections in the existing wall and the glass wall and doors custom made to fit the space....start with a consultation with a builder/carpenter to better understand the existing structure and for the skilled helped you'll need to determine the best size and shape of the glass wall ...and, if the goal is to sound proof the piano room another option could be to have a solid sound insulated wall with soundproof glass window between the two rooms and install a solid core door into the piano room from the hallway....
