I don't think your current kitchen plan is going to work. Your current kitchen plan may end up a bit tight... how much space between the open dishwasher or oven and the opposite cupboards? I estimate that to be 40-50cm... I think you may end up with a one person kitchen. No need for a big pantry. 2c.... keep the toilet where it is. keep the study where it is. Draw a horizontal line across from your existing toilet wall and chop a big chunk off the living space (or what was the formal dining). The new space is your butlers pantry. Slide the entry door to the right by 60-90cm. Your new butlers pantry is 3.2x2.2m. Put your sink against the toilet wall - and the dishwasher. You have easy access for plumbing with the WC utilities. Then you just need a small sink in the kitchen next to the stove for filtered water and washing your vegies etc. Put your fridge against the toilet wall too... and plumb that in. Because by the money you save you can get a fancy new french door fridge with a cold water tap on it...

Hi Malcolm, I know you said that you wouldn't be changing any plumbing, when I looked at your plan I didn't see anything showing a laundry and was hoping that it might be the small room to the right of your plan and that would allow extra kitchen space. I was also trying to keep the living room as big as possible. Looking forward to any updates that you might plan, cheers

We had a large family room with our kitchen and cut off a good section and have a walk in butler's pantry, it house all tinned foods, baking products, dog food and biscuits, and on the counter I have all my electrical appliances except for kettle . I have no cupboards high on the wall in my kitchen and it works wonderfully, hope this helps.

Seriously? Lack of understanding of the authentic original period architecture. This is neither fish nor fowl and so overcooked. Less is more people. The best results in renovations/refit scenarios are always those that are inherently sympathetic, taking cues from the existing space or original style, and tying in. It can be successful taken either in a contemporary direction or restoring accurately, BUT regardless of what it is it needs to be BALANCED, rather than the mess like here which is a case of arbitrarily applying an excess of random foreign design and style elements. People (including interior pros) need to stop trying to be "on trend" for the sake of it or thinking we must have "features' or 'hero' elements. Sometimes the best and most clever architectural results are those that promote LESS attention to it......but enduring and classic outcomes requires subtlety and capacity to confidently filter stylistic choices without being influenced by the noise of the latest interiors magazine or Pinterest post.
