Thank you I visited a few stores in Sydney , bo concepts, king furniture , project 82 and finally jimmy possum and decided on the Massimo and Milmo sofa with ottoman from jimmy possum, many reasons, not only because of the impeccable quality of the sofas and the fact it's Austrlaian made, but after visiting the store twice my husband would fall asleep instantly whilst sitting on them, and that to me was the clincher. Good luck with the process. Just a couple of thoughts, the slightly smaller l.h.s. bedroom, moving the cupboards to the end on the bed ( if you can lengthen the house) will muffle the tv noise, as well as leaving a wall for the extra window for cross ventilation. For the r.h.s. Bedroom (main?) the wardrobe could be against the wall behind the bed, with the bed moved forward and the wardrobe and standing room hidden behind a full height wall accessible from either side. Again the room will need to be lengthened. I would like to consider the rest of the house but without comments about style of house (country, contemporary) it makes it a bit difficult. Would like to see the bathroom tweeted to allow access from b1, more like a two way bathroom. Would like you to think about a bigger south side patio to allow viewing or opening from the lounge, depending on the view, or the laundry room move to the other end on the small patio and incorporate a toilet room with it's own hand basin or powder room, to take the pressure off the main bathroom. Again without drawings of the outside of the house the balance is a bit more difficult to see. One you have a reasonable idea of what you like, need, and want, a professional designer will adjust the room sizes for balance and proportion, and make and draw suggestions to make it easier to visualise. Again, best of luck, and don't look for perfection, just perfect for you. I've been involved with building two homes and am renovation my existing one, and am still learning, and allowing the site to influence the layout.

I also think matte black handles will work well. They are simple and elegant and won't reflect light as the S/S ones do. If and when you add a pendant light (down the track), I think your focus on the handles will diminish. It's possible a suspended ceiling will complicate the look of your kitchen. What is the height of your ceilings? And a suspended ceiling would lower the height to what? Painting the ceiling sounds like an alternative and would certainly add interest. Your kitchen IS beautiful as is. Pls keep us posted!

I really feel for you. I had a similar experience when a neighbour recommended someone she knew who was 'really good'! He was extremely lazy and, apparently, suffering from depression and he had split up with his girlfriend! He did a dreadful job which took a week - because he was too depressed to work on some days - he only did about half the job and I wasn't impressed. It has ruined my relationship with my neighbour because she knew him to be really good. She won't even come into my place - I assume she doesn't want to see the mess he created! To top it all off (I had paid him cash - fortunately only half of what he 'wanted' (not 'earned') so he wouldn't be paying tax on it )- I didn't get a receipt. He also took my house keys so I had to have the locks replaced. Such a mess and then, I had some tradies through a couple of weeks later for an unrelated job and they asked me when I was getting the place painted? When I told them it had just been done, they really didn't know where to look. I seem to constantly get ripped off, so I'm not getting much done any more - too expensive and depressing.
