Beachside house before & after

We've just finished renovating the front of our beachside house. We extended the balcony, put in all new doors & windows, put up new cladding and have created a totally new look.
We still need to paint the brickwork downstairs and do some landscaping out the front. I want to continue the white downstairs but my husband wants a different shade....

We're pretty much finished now, we painted the bottom and added the garden

Different color downstairs, not all white. I like the look you have with light on top and dark on bottom. It looks so so good!!

Thank you for the lovely comments! The clients brief to the architect was to have water views from every room. This was a large undertaking and meant that the over all design and external look was not as important as the WATER VIEWS! Using cleaver angles and glass this was achieved for the client who is extremely happy with the outcome.

This is a very interesting plan--is this sort of 'piano nobile' layout very common in your area? Is the open ground floor used just for parking?

Yes it is quite a common house in Australia, mostly for the airflow under the house to keep it cooler. This house and many like it was built in the 70s, there are a number of identical houses in neighbouring suburbs. We are across the road from the beach so they perfect way to capture great views without have a large house.
