I can't say I've ever had a fabulous wardrobe so my experience limited. However compared to shelves, do like being able to pull out the wire basket drawers and see what is in them (toward back/bottom). No problems so far with moths. I am fairly lazy about ironing, but would find general wrinkles more a problem than wire markings. They seem to allow good air flow which is important in a wardrobe.

And to answer your question I'd use wire mainly because painting trellis belongs in one of hell's circles.

Just be aware that if it is allowed to grow too vigorously, then it may damage the timber fence (especially if it starts going between the slats or grows heavily in top). Ideally, a freestanding trellis structure would be used as a climbing frame. However, if both you and neighbour enjoy the plants then you are unlikely to have dramas over who pays for maintenance.

Is it possible that there are floorboards under the carpet that can be polished? This would be ideal. Otherwise, as much as I love my bedroom floorboards, I think you should stick with carpet. You’ll never match the hallway exactly so it will always look a bit odd.
