Hi Kaneda. This door swings outward, onto the porch. These door units can be purchased as an in-swing or an out-swing, depending on your needs. This one is an out swing. 12 foot over all length. Think about your spacial needs, furniture layout, and your light switch locations when deciding on which way to swing the doors. I hope that helps.
I am sorry. I didn't answer the hinging/sliding part of your question. This one is hinged. You can get the same door in a slider. Looks very similar, and operates very well. Sliders are usually better when space is an issue.
