Hi Dusty Hydronic towel rails can be a great alternative to traditional panels in a bathroom. There is a huge range of design and budget options on the market. The main difference between a traditional panel and a hydronic towel rail is the way it projects the heat into the room. A traditional panel is mostly convection (around 20% radiant heat) so the heat is released through the top of the panel up to the ceiling then forced back down the heat the room. A hydronic towel rail will be purely radiant as it doesn't have the vents on top. With regards to to heating up the room is always best to oversized with a towel rail mainly because depending what finish you go with the coatings may affect the heat output and also as soon as you start putting towels on them your blocking the heat, you will end up with nice warm dry towels but not necessarily a warm bathroom. the heated floor can be installed like an extra thin electric blanket under new tiles (or carpet or timber etc) and we have a portable small electric plug in floor mat under a rug in a study ...not really suitable for a quick heat but ideal for a cold place where the inbuilt timers warms up the floor to suit early morning and late evening and suprisingly cheap to buy but not cheap to run for big rooms .. we live in a cold climate and have underfloor heating under tiles in bathrooms, laundry and mudroom, under fitted carpet down a long hallway and under a loose floor mat to keep feet warm while sitting at a desk in the study and its excellent..... usually available from tile shops and on line suppliers in a range of suitable sizes including by the square metre and installed by tilers and electrician after new waterproofing and before tiles...i think the last time we installed the underfloor heating for a modest sized bathroom was well under $1000 including installation and well worth the cost

I first would be looking at who is to open the drawers and doors. Their ages and ability for full hand movement. Have they got strength in fingers to pull open the drawers and doors. Both above need this strength and would be a hassle for Arthritis sufferers. Some times handles are better.
