Thanks once again oklouise for your comments. I have already been told by the draughtsman that I cannot put in skylights. No idea if this is true but he seemed quite sure and it was he who 'designed' the layout of said ensuite with what I consider a too small window because of ease of plumbing and drainage. He says that can be changed...............Supposedly only put like that to get the oversize plan in fir consent. This department is only interested in the outside view and the effect on the neighbours, which I actually dont have any. The positioning of the ensuite and WiR has changed too from the first plan as I had to come 'out' of my bedroom into a corridor past the WiR door and then into the ensuite. Technically they were both in my bedroom as had not entered the hallway but did not seem like it. So the wall you have now suggested for the door is a small lobby to the bedroom and I had planned to put furniture on it and a full length mirror. I will now look again at the whole space with three zones to see what can be done. I used the word solar tube as I thought that was the generic name for the 'tube' installed which reflected light into a room. Do they cause draughts? Have had no experience of them but will probably want to install one in my scullery (or Butler's kitchen) but am going to work in it a few months before deciding that. I am really quite a novice about function of installations and of building code.

Could you do with out a laundry sink? If you make the bathroom sink deep enough and the bench overly wide they could do double duty. So you would have sink and bench next to a cupboard that hold the stacked washer and dryer. If you have a front loaded washer you can put a bench inside the cupboard to make extra work space. If the bathroom vanity cabinetry and bench top are the same as the laundry cupboard it will add symmetry. Fill up your mop bucket in the shower (better for your back anyway) or a funky pull out tap could work. It should reduce the amount of space for your laundry/bathroom and give you more space to rearrange what you need for your pantry. I don’t like some of the styles in the photos but it gives you some ideas about sink and bench sizes. I understand though if you would prefer a seperate sink for the bathroom and laundry.

Thanks dreamer, might look into a sliding window for the splashback. And have put the benchtop as 650mm for now, may increase further. Thanks siriuskey. I am leaning towards your design and using the corner as appliance/pantry. The bifold from bench height up would certainly work really well functionally but I’m not sure I’d like the look. I’ve sketched up having the area 800 deep to house the fridge and to have a step in pantry/appliance cupboard (500 deep bench, 300 step in cavity). 2 variations of the cupboard, first with sliding doors opening from centre (approx 1m opening so might feel a bit pokey), or second with perhaps stacker doors to right or bifold (this would block off bench space between pantry and sink when open though). This cupboard would be pretty big (2280mm) so don’t think we’d need the appliance cupboard next to dining area. And could have oven under cooktop. Dining and kitchen could be separated by small wall.

unable to read all the dimensions my suggestions have simplified the shape of the building and based on estimated room sizes are aimed at improving comfort by separating some areas (eg study and lounge) for quiet activities and if you added furniture to suit your lifestyle and activities (eg not sure how you would want to furnish the cinema and bar) would help you to ensure rooms are the best size and shape (eg downstairs bedroom could be used for a guest room so i've included private access to the bathroom)..the zen room could be included with the master suite by moving the doors across the upstairs hallway...the rearranged cloak room to better suit the likely easy walking path from car inside with groceries and the powder room more likely used from the study and lounge when there's an extra bathroom at the back of the house.....luckily you have ideal north facing main rooms but, unless there are great views i would be cautious about balconies and wide expanses of glass to the east or west (or consider external sun screens) and depending on budget there would be lots of option to reduce the overall size without changing the basic floorplan
