Hi. This is improving. We need more tweaking, though. I see you have 3 love seats. We will need to divide the furniture into 2 groups. Before we do, is there any way you can move the dining table down the hall, away from the grand piano? That way, we could add another seating area around the piano. Also, it would take away from the awkwardness of having the dining table halfway in the room. Alternately, could the grand piano be moved to the other side of the dining table and then the dining table be moved so that it is centered in front of the window?

I like all of your furniture in this picture, except the mirror and the lamp. I wouldn't paint any of it - you may ruin them forever. Remove the clock and other bits above the fire mantel - it looks cluttered under the mirror. I would look for either another mirror for above the mantel, or a bright, modern painting/print and have it large and square to cover some of the void above the existing mirror. I would also use a light fitting that is flush with the ceiling. The lamp is sad - move it to the shed. You could consider cushion colours that are bright and colourful. Because your upholstery is patterned, a mix of plain green cushions in sync with the carpet colour could work, or even different reds in a variety of textures.

There are a lot of companies that do flat pack units but will also install for you. I had these units made for our rumpus/media room (flat pack) and the top was our dining room table that was too large for our current dining room but loved the recycled ash. I am sure there would be companies that do this all over Australia.

Wow Lynda your spaces have great proportions to work with! Country classic with high ceilings & a raw edginess to boot, It could be anything from French provincial to Industrial with classic stone & brick. I'm thinking stone on the steps & floors, white on the wall to the right or an amazing wallpaper & black or white accent furniture & lights. Maybe a chandelier & a beautiful rug under the piano if it is staying there. Keep the brick as it is, great spaces! Depends what style you like... country, classic, industrial, eclectic or other? Plus whether you want to make it light & bright , dark & moody or somewhere in between..
