Will the desk fit on the wall next to the shelf unit or are you are you restricted to the L shape for some reason? Could it work opposite the window & in the other corner better & the piano where white shelf is? If you can get all the measurements including for the new lounge & try taping the floor out to check that the configuration works. Otherwise as you say having the new lounge along that back wall means having the tv where piano is but could work, depending on the view from the dining room. Pictures on the bare walls & a rug will soften what seems harsh at the moment but as you are not sure yet it is hard to say... I have always moved things around many times until it felt right. I feel your pain & hope I have not confused things for you :/

Japanese!! Yes; now you've said that I can't believe that hadn't dawned on me before, but it's probably why I chose it in the first place. I do have a love of Japanese styling and there's quite a bit of it in other rooms of the house. The bedhead is a neutral linen so I think I could get away with some subtle Japanese styling around it. I like the idea of paper lampshades and Japanese style side tables. Thank you.

After much consideration of your photo, I really think you have it right! The gold mirror matches the gold towel rail ! All your other elements, i.e. the plant and stand, match perfectly with and enhance the room's overall look. I think the suggestion of painting the wall behind the mirror, is an excellent one, in a shade of green which would tie in with the tiles on the floor and the plant. You have the ceiling height to handle it. I wouldn't be shy with a dark emerald green to complement the tiles, I think the gold would then really shine and blend with the gold hand rail. Photocopy the pic of the room and using a texta, colour in the wall and see what you think before committing. Be brave. Congrats on a beautiful room! It’s the wall colour that doesn’t look nice everything else is fine. Repaint the wall it’s easy and you want regret it , use neutral colours but not light go for darker and for the corner I would plant giant bird of paradise either in the huge pot or if possible in the ground but keep it well away from the wall to give it space to grow and give you tropical look and feel. If you are using pots you can have few of them they won’t drop leaves in the pool.
