Comments (320)mforr - It's funny you should mention that, because I just looked at the map of queens, trying to remember the name of the highway that went thru a friend's neighborhood like that .. and I think they renamed it! There used to be an "Interboro Parkway", and now it's called the "Jackie Robinson Parkway"! Wikipedia says it was renamed in 1997 .. who knew?! "The Jackie Robinson Parkway is a 4.95-mile (7.97 km) parkway in the New York City boroughs of Brooklyn and Queens. The western terminus of the parkway is at Jamaica Avenue in the Brooklyn neighborhood of East New York. It runs through Highland Park, along the north side of Ridgewood Reservoir, and through Forest Park. The eastern terminus is at the Kew Gardens Interchange in Kew Gardens, Queens, where the Jackie Robinson Parkway meets the Grand Central Parkway and Interstate 678."...See MoreYay or Nay? Comments (8)Luke, I wouldn't have them inside, a bit too busy for me but outside would be lovely as a feature around a pool for example. By the way, I received my delicious Christmas hamper today. Thankyou again. Cheers, Barbara...See MoreWould you consider building a home using Passive Solar Design?
Comments (50)After I had finished my Archi Masters I was working for an architecture firm who also did a small amount of work for a volume builder. They were actually a pretty good quality builder and at least got the orientation of their 'pre-designed' plans correct. We had the ability to make minor changes to every job and it pained me to see so many simple to implement passive options not being incorporated. Had most of their clients known that they would be saving MONEY over the longterm by making a few minor changes to suit their site, they all would have done it. The problem is unless someone can sell this idea to them as a financial/lifestyle choice, many just think it is about saving the world. It is a no-brainer if you have in interest in it, but for those who don't know, there is no-one there selling it to them, especially on the lower end of the market....See MoreMaster Bathroom Bath, yay? or nay?
Comments (11)Two baths can always be good option. One for the couples to be their sanctuary retreat and one for the children/guest. Especially if you have the room! Another great option you could go for in your en-suite is having a double vanity and/or double shower if you have the space. This is very popular trend we are finding today and good re-sale value. Below is a few examples to show you! Good luck with your renovation!...See MoreSasha G.
