What does WOW FACTOR mean to you?
Comments (17)I'm quite happy for my home to have 'wow' factor if it's me thinking 'wow, I love that!'. If 'wow factor' is wanting others to be 'wowed' when they walk through your door then you're probably getting caught up in the wrong factor. What we go 'wow' about in our own homes is likely to vary from person to person - for me, its about the beautiful natural light in my home, for someone else it might be the pebble shower recess they laid by hand, or their garden in spring. There are probably also home features which tend to generate approval across the board, things like soaring ceilings or bespoke features, a beautiful fireplace or amazing view come to mind here....See MoreOur front living room needs help!
Comments (12)I have attached a new layout, taking into account the new, and important information. I would move your lounge to the wall where spinning wheel is. Move spinning wheel to corner window. Swap tall buffet with lower buffet. Put small chair in corner where television is. Take the two large lounge chairs out completely. They are too bulky for the space. Replace with two high back chairs in your wonderful teal colour. Add a round gold table for chairs. Then these could be used to watch television. But look wonderful when people are entering this space. The lower buffet will be behind these chairs, therefore the teal will stand out against the rich wood tones of buffet. You have unique pieces, people should be able to see them at their best....See MoreWhat do we do with our nightmare living room?
Comments (69)We had a pole house with timber floors around the pole. The builder did a fantastic job and recessed the floor timbers slightly into the pole, so there was never gap. Furnishing around the poles can be interesting - indoor plants are great - but realistically, your focus will be on the outside views during the day, and it will only be nights that you will think about the poles/inside :) I would probably put a couch on the view side of the pole facing the views, with plants this side - and no-one will really notice the carpet....See MoreHelp me our front door opens directly into our living room
Comments (7)Some dimensions will help. Do you want a tv in the space? How many seats? A partition shelving unit or console backing onto a couch would create a sense of hallway at front door. Definitely need a large rug in living space to define the area and create warmth....See Morefianou
