white washed brick looks great with a tin roof and very country - think tuscany. Reclad with brick. Other wise just change the supporting poles from green to timber to match the verandah and stick with what you have. It's probably worth saving your money until you can afford to repaint the roof too and make it all work together. Work with perspectives too. Right now the focus appears to be on the roof because there is nothing drawing your eye away from it. Maybe planting coloured flowers in the front garden or great outdoor furniture like the cane lounge but with different colour cushions etc.

That timber top on the vanity would be tricky to makeover unless you had a piece of composite stone cut for it, or even a squared off laminate counter. It all depends how much freedom/budget you have. Can you see a time in the future that you are likely to update the bathroom completely? For now, it might be simplest to just paint the walls above the tiles Antique White USA and purchase a black bakelite toilet seat/lid. Replace the cabinet knobs with some shiny black round ones and the room will take on more of a classic 1920s feel as opposed to Victorian meets 1990 one.

I'll make a different suggestion -- go and buy a litre of crisp white paint , and paint 1 of the columns , and see how it looks . I reckon its the colour that is the main problem -- match the colour to those screen doors and it'll look better . Mind you , where do you stop -- personally I think the gutter colour doesn't help either , those tiles are dated , even the bricks are of a certain era . A row of square columns may help , but I think embrace what you have , go crisp white columns , maybe charcoal gutters , waterblast the concrete , make the most of what you have .

Black sounds perfect.
