I see this all the time with rental houses, not much care is taken other than get it in. Have seen a very similar setup but they put the NBN gear over where your kitchen bench is and used one of the kitchen outlets for power (I wonder how often it gets unplugged). On the flip side, I've encountered many NBN cowboys who basically dictate over the owner where these go - of course to the benefit of the contractor. I've lost count how many fights I've had with them. I'd say it's fairly lucrative for a sparky to fix NBN installs (not just location, but poor workmanship) where the owners have given up on them.

I did a quick google search. have a look at https://www.4cabling.com.au/cable-management/cable-management-tools/desk-cable-management.html as an example, . if you have more cables than will fit in a particular product then buy some cable ties from Bunnings and tie them to the tray. for a cheap diy solution you could try a section of Whites 1000mm Plastic StayMesh Gutter Strip $7.30 from Bunnings to cover on the floor or attach to underside of desk with loops.
