We have similar and they spread. We didn't plant them but I think birds have picked up seeds from else where and dropped at our place. We back onto a National Park so are getting rid of them, but you have to dig and get the roots out as well as they regrow quite easily... Ours get a bright red/orange flower head on them which look ok but not great in a native area..... Pull them out, roots and all and bin them.

I am no expert, but it appears (from the wood, shape and handles) to be a danish teak dresser - they date from around the mid-late fifties and sixties. Don't think they are particularly rare (check for makers mark eg) Borge Mogensen/Sorborg Mobler?), but they are lovely, and very on-trend (similar new version by West Elm sells for $1099). Didn't find one exactly like yours on ebay, but similar vintage ones listed start at around AU $550-$600 and go up from there. A great thrifting find!

Hi Michael It's typical of a 1940-50s weatherboard State house- windows replaced with aluminium probably in the 80's. You can tell the style- 30 deg roof pitch- usually concrete tile. Narrow (approx 300mm) soffits and no soffit on the gable ends. Inside you would probably have native timber floors (Matai was common) that polish up superbly. It's most likely a very solid house. I wouldn't worry too much about the paneling yet. It's a little odd that on the front gable it extends down to the top of the window. Unless you need to add on to the house think colour - you can transform the look with colour alone and it's not expensive. If you want to spend more, I'd add barge over hangs, and maybe return the soffits around the corner of the gables. Apart from the paneling extending down to the windows on the very front (which you could replace with weatherboard up to the gable) the paneling would not be offensive if treated well. Bare in mind the paneling is most likely asbestos cement so you'd need a specialist to remove it. You definitely should replace the pipe holding up the porch roof with something more substantial

It is impossible to be positive without reading the architect's specification, but I have a strong suspicion that it could be Austral's GB Smooth finish, possibly in a Nickel colour with white mortar. I don't think it is a honed finish as the surface of honed blocks looks dottier. Is is really hard to select colours and materials accurately from a digital image due to the light conditions, and variations in camera and screen adjustments.
