What's the most efficient kitchen shape?
Comments (3)Hi - although my kitchen is smaller at 3.5m x 3.7m, I have almost the identical layout to yours, including the position of internal door. I have been trying to re-jig my kitchen for years! I have found the squareness of the shape very hard to work with. I wish you good luck and I hope you have more success (and imagination!) than me....See MoreIdeas of what to do with the back of our kitchen bench/island
Comments (5)I would clad it in horizontal wide timber flooring planks. Myself I'd go a grey, weathered timber like an oak, the engineered flooring can be bout in packs, so a single pack would create a feature inexpenssively. It will provide the oppotunity to introduce timber details in furnishings or kitchen accessories. Natural timber softens modern interiors, relaxes and adds character to traditional looks like provincial or hamptons styles. The wide plank will enhance the flow as a walk through, but still provide an intersting visual texture to the adjoining lounge area....See Moremeal seating for 6 - island bench or separate table
Comments (31)I have a stool on the kitchen side of the island and love it. It does men you lose a cupboard to allow for the stool , and the space between the island and kitchen bench needs to be at least 1200- mine is 1400. It is great for socialising around the bench. It seems to be where we all gather- I can sit and join in, organise food, drinks easily. It works so well 2 of my friends have incorporated the idea into their kitchens....See MorePlease advice what to use for island bench, caesurestone or smartstone
Comments (4)They are the same as they are both engineered. From the builders perspective the smart stone comes in bigger slabs so it will save on costs to buy fewer slabs. He is trying to save you or himself money. Ceaserstone has a wider variety of colours, there customer care is top notch and they have more product. Like with any Bench top be it laminate, stone or marble, as soon as you drop something on it, clean it up....See MoreUser
