We have a glass rangehood similar to Futuro Futuro's Acqualina Glass product and I love it. The top and bottom of the glass gets given a clean about once a week with citrus multi-purpose cleaning spray and then wiped down with a moistened glass cleaning cloth for a pristine finish. Takes around 5 minutes in total. Cleaning the brushed stainless part is more difficult. As mentioned previously, its hard to remove all the marks. Will definately try the WD40. Me, personally, I don't like the mirrored finish. Given the window is acting as the "splashback" I would have gone for something invisible like what Sheryl Horton showed.

There's just me living in this space. In the 4mths I've lived here so far I haven't had to clean the tiles on back wall but it is dark so maybe I can't see the mess. As for the sink area there's water splashes always on the tiles. The kitchen designer advised me against using the mirror here for that reason.

Lol Mel N...that is exactly what I think about mirror splashbacks...they look great in the show-home kind of tidy homes we see on websites and magazines...but transfer to real life and one pile of mess becomes two piles, one pile of unwashed dishes becomes two etc....but on the positive side it would make cleaning up very rewarding - you clear away one pile and two piles go!!

okay!!! A lot of these commenters obviously thought what I did - that the cupboards are a deep browney grey!! I think the responses would have been very different if we knew the cupboards were white. If you re-read thru the responses you will see that. Perhaps try re-posting the dilemma with a better pic. One of those original tiles may actually look ok.
