Mirror or not to Mirror?

Completed Art splashback for client, they are delighted with the results as it matched the brief for a contemporary and different splashback which was to be the main feature in a small bathroom with a NY feel. It did not necessarly need a mirror as it's primary function was for hand washing only and included a dressing area outside of the bathroom.
Do you or would you always place a mirror over hand basins?
Is it a habit of bathroom design and function to use a mirror whilst washing hands? (having a separate area to apply make-up ect.) Can we use this space for something more creative or anything else?
In this poll I'm asking mirror or no mirror over hand basins. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
always put a mirror over a hand basin
open to other uses of the space and may try something else on other future projects
