We haven't see the king parrots yet this year, but the almond trees have nuts on them now, so I suspect the king parrots will arrive any time now! We had a flock of red-tailed black cockatoos arrive temporarily , once. They were big birds, and very handsome. We get the white cockatoos and the galahs. We also have grass parrots, in their shades of green, who land on the grass and almost disappear from view, until they move .

I think it needs something 3 dimensional added to it - I like the idea of buttons - make an outline of a large shape - a bird, a dolphin, or just a diamond shape - whatever you like - then get lots of different colour and different sized buttons and sew them on close together so they fill the whole shape. At the moment it definitely looks like a school notice board! If you add something flat it will still look like a pin board - many of the shop bought ones have ribbon sewed on in a criss-cross pattern etc, so you def need something 3D.

well, probably a hip is best but you should really review this from a view at street level, not high like this. you also need to think carefully about the relationship of the carport to the corner of the house, ie the window and eaves line there.. it might be better to leave a decent gap , say 2 metres... and accept a smaller carport... don't rule out a flat foof.. it will be visually more discrete and won't compete with the house roofs... and make sure the support posts LOOK strong..

Great job- really fantastic. A tip for anyone in the process of renovating a bathroom: I used Blake and Taylor chalk paint with a couple of sealer coats to paint a laminex vanity in our bathroom- and it looks great. Easy to apply and looks like a million dollars now. include new knobs from the great range at Paddington Hardware, and you can spend the money you've saved on good tapware.
