Window Treatments
Comments (7)I would suggest a neutral based solar film that can offer the best in both reasonable privacy without effecting the natural view that you would normally get with clear glass (as opposed to the coloured films and glass tinted versions )whilst offing excellent fade protection and some glare reduction from off the water and improved glass insulation & glass safety . As a business dealing with these films , I've used this particular range of American made PROTEK films over 30 years for situations such as your selves with very good feed back from customers . Using the film can get around; in most applications ; from not using closed or partly close blinds and curtains that would otherwise effect those beautiful views . Comments (20)Hi diviabhi Here are a few links to companies which supply the roman blinds you are after (blockout & sheer). I would suggest looking at a few, getting an idea of the type of blinds you are after, doing a cost comparison between them all. You might want to request an obligation free quote. Of course, depending on your location, some may be more suitable than others. Fabric/Material, Exposed/Hidden Tracks, Motorised/Manual, Cordless/Corded and COST are all things to take into consideration. http://www.kresta.com.au http://www.victory.com.au http://www.luxaflex.com.au http://www.sunway.com.au http://invisageinverloch.com.au Take your time and good luck with your decision....See MoreSuggestions for a window treatment for this please...
Comments (25)One of the biggest issues with shutters is the dusk and if you employ cedar they will fade unevenly in the sun. I think the best resolution lies in the glass. This will give you your privacy as well as low maintenance with the view unencumbered. There are glazing solutions that can be "switched on" to obscure for privacy. This may give you the best of both worlds. Fantastic View what a great place for a bath......See Morewhat type of window treatment?
Comments (9)Ellen, as you have two high windows that do not need cover - especially when they add so much light to the room, if you wanted to have curtains on the large corner windows, there could be one stacking left on the street side and one stacking right on the other, with fixed roman blinds over the two high windows, using the same fabric. These will act like a pelmet and it will seem that the window goes to the ceiling and the whole effect gives a gracious look to the room (and I am so over roller blinds, they are practical, but boring). This is a sheer curtain, but I think you require something denser to keep out prying eyes at night. Sheer curtains don't permit much vision from the street during the day, just movement. At night when the light is on it is the reverse. So you could have block-out blinds behind the sheer curtains that are just lowered at night. Otherwise, you could have decorative curtains and blind, below are the latest ideas from Europe; I have tried to give you a variety of styles, as there was no mention of which direction you wish to proceed in your home. All food for thought, have fun. Tina Glasson...See Morejuliahocking
