Hi Elieshara. I wouldn't even try to put anything substantial against the walls. If you're using the room for TV and want to put in the sofas etc, I would suggest turning your sofa towards the brick wall and getting a long low table to sit behind it. It could incorporate some storage and you could put some lovely decorative pieces or flowers on top which would connect with the outdoors. Your two chairs to the sides, facing in or out and that's it! Then it's just a matter of a rug, if you want it, artwork and lamps, your cushions and perhaps a coffee table. Keep it very simple, but also functionally beautiful. Another whacky idea would be to paint the frames of each door/window a different colour, and let that be your decoration! (assuming the sofa etc are fairly neutral). I imagine you'd get a series of coloured 'boxes' decorating your walls - but you could only get away with this if the rest of the room is elegantly simple.

Typically, three panel doors were used throughout bungalows, Edwardian bungalows and Californian often had 3 panel doors, two long rectangular and one on the top, federation often used these or 4 panel doors, with three vertical rectangles, even the occasional 4 panel vid doors were found. the deco bungalows were often closer to the Edwardian bungalows in that the 3 panel or single panel doors were used. black Japan featured heavily,although using an mdf reproduction would work if you paint them. i successfully found my Edwardian doors on gumtree, driving two hours to get them, so it's worth a try. I have seen some as recent as yesterday with three panels and glass top inserts, which help if your interior is dark. can I ask what suburb your in?

My 10c worth: If I was to make a door like the one in the pic, I would use a piece of 38mm thick Triboard. Having a good-looking exposed track system is expensive for a larger or heavier door. Also make sure there is sufficient strength above the door in the right place to hang the door. We sell these sliding track systems in NZ, Id recommend the Henderson Rustic 80 system. Looking online overseas, theres some pretty good deals, but there's always the quality risk. Nor sure how much you are able to do yourself, there would be lots of savings to be made there, as usual!

Hi Siriuskey, They are timber looking tiles - we absolutely love them. We are considering the same for the new place but potentially herringbone/parquetry arrangement. Much more expensive vs. laminate but easier to clean and no concern in relation to water...
