Go with a more neutral patterned traditional fabric for the chair, add a headboard to your bed with the same fabric, or if not the headboard, purchase taller lamps & shades to give a more overall "height" to the room. Hi Ann, no I don't get the vase because I have lots of vases but every now and then I think about it. I don't know where it's made but it's a really good quality, nice solid and stable and it gives enough light for the room, I suppose it depends on globe you get . R u getting it.?

Thank you everyone, lots of shopping, many shops seen. I have pulled this look together. I am not sure about the heavy textured throw. Just walked in with it, thinking a white pot with a plant in the corner by the window. I wanted to find the beige colour in the blue cushion, a much darker colour than the plain one l found to the left of it. Take care everyone. Sue

So where would your cooktop be? Where would you cut up vegetables and need to wash them? Where would people get a drink of water from? If you want to keep the kitchen bench top clear then that means you are going to be standing in the butlers pantry a lot accessing water for various cooking and personal needs of washing hands and drinking. Have you thought of putting a small sink at the end of your “clear island”, this will be somewhere to fill up and empty pots of water, if your cooktop is in the kitchen, somewhere to get a drink, somewhere to wash hands and vegetables.
