Walls= Dulux Caper White Quarter, Architraves and skirting board??
Comments (3)Hi Lucy Have you thought of using the same colour on the skirting boards and architraves but doing them in high gloss? That way they will look slightly lighter than the wall due to the light reflection off the gloss....See MoreSkirting board and architrave combos
Comments (12)You didn't mention your spectacular honey-coloured plywood ceiling which is a beautiful feature. I think that stained timber skirtings and architraves will detract from your ceiling, especially as they will be a different timber, colour and look to your ceiling. You have white walls, you have white windows, why would you introduce a contrasting timber element in the form of an architrave? The only answer is to paint the skirtings and architraves in the same colour as your wall, so that they "disappear". The concrete floor, the timber ceiling and the raked ceiling have enough visual interest and you don't need any more. Comments (5)Agree that gloss would look best. Recommend you use a water based paint and not oil based. My vivid white trims yellowed very quickly and I regret using an oil-based enamel on them....See Morepaint colour appears different on doors vs architraves.
Comments (0)Doors, skirting and architraves specified as enamel gloss .I have noticed that the doors are a stark white and the architraves and skirting look yellow compared .I think the doors have been 2 packed in high gloss ? Emporite. Wondering if we have any comeback here as emporite was NOT specified and not wanted and the colour is clearly different (speci just said enamel gloss) It’s very noticeable and annoying ! Feeling angry as we upgraded the door type and they have beautiful bronze hardware . Appreciate advice from painters ,builders or anyone .Thanks in advance !!!...See MoreLongden Doors Ltd
