I agree. Black is nice but will date.

How long are you going to live in the house? If it is for quite a while and you like black tap ware (I do too) go ahead and enjoy. BTW, black is easier to clean than chrome. And then, when it comes time to sell and black has really dated, it would not cost a fortune to change a couple of taps and then you could sell the black ones on Ebay or Gumtree. And do you really think that someone who would love to buy your house would be put off by such easily replaceable items? Think not.

That's a great way to look at it Inez! It's a home we bought a year ago and have started a major renovation on - basically gutted and started again. So it will be our family home for the next 20 years I imagine - we have 2 young boys. You're right... in the scheme of things it's a small investment if we did decide to replace them with chrome in 5-10 years time... and that's IF we get sick of them. Great logic - thank you.
