Interior paint dilemma!
Comments (6)I would use taubmans undercoat it can be used under enamel paint as well as acrylic, and coverage is good. You might need to sand the walls lightly to give an even finish before applying any paint....See MoreKitchen renovation - the white paint dilemma
Comments (3)Sorry, I can’t comment on the whites you have mentioned. For what it’s worth, I’ll just mention that we’ve been very happy with Dulux Whisper White in the past. From memory it just has hint of black pigment in it. Found this to work well across a wide range of lighting situations. Great with a range of different timbers, from aged cypress (a bit yellow), cedar and iron bark (a bit red). To some it might look a bit stark but to my eye it always looked fresh, not dirty, and not creamy. An alternative is Dulux Half Duck White which we have used at quarter strength (half, half duck white ) which has the black pigment plus ochre I think, which Is similar but maybe a bit ‘softer’. Good luck....See MoreStruggling with paint choice, primrose windows dilemma for a Motel
Comments (12)Thank you for all your help, I was thinking of painting the balcony supports to bring in the white again but my husband said he does not really want to paint them as we will have to paint down the track again and keep it up. They are double gav. Do you mean paint the grey around the balcony base to the white swan? So instead of having dark grey gutters and balcony dark grey have dark grey gutters and white swan around balcony? I could not find Tranquil Retreat on the paint visualiser so I used Gray Frost which looks on the internet a similar colour so I could get the idea what it may look like. Any thoughts on below colours? It is funny a lot of people say the Tranquil retreat does not look pale blue but on the Motel it does look pale blue as can be seen on the above real photos....See Moreexterior paint dilemma
Comments (4)You want your front door to be a feature and as it is timber it contrasts to the rest of your pallete so it stands out. By trying to match the garage door to the front door it will make the garage door look like more of a feature as it is a much larger area, and is more prominant. In addition your front door will be real timber that is stained, whereas the garage door will be a fake timber, probably a printed metal to look like timber, so you won't be able to get an accurate match. I would try and match the colour of the garage door to the brickwork so it is not a feature. Don't judge how your house will look from an artsist render - the colours are never accurate, just indicitive. The only way to judge is to get samples of each colour and lay them adjacent to each other outside. Your perception of the colours you have selected will change at different times of the day in different light conditions. I don't think there is such a thing as a "correct" colour scheme - everybody perceives colours differently, and has their own preferences. As long as you love it....
